Interesting to me is the persecution against Christians when Hamas took over. Also interesting, Obama has commited to “no comment” during the transition, but look to the end of the article for what he said back in July. I would have to agree with his statements and can’t imagine who would disagree.
I see that while Shannon and I were gone, several people signed up for giving gifts to the children. That’s great! I’m thankful to Dianne Stewart for heading the project up and for those of you who are getting the presents and making contributions. This is the chuch being the church!
Also, I heard that choir rehearsal had lots of new faces Sunday. Now that is nice!
I’m going to take off more often if things like this keeps happening while I’m gone.
This Sunday I’m going to preach one last sermon from the Zechariah series. It’s entitled “Choose Your Shepherd Wisely”. There’s more on that in one of the earlier posts. On the following Sunday, we’ll start looking to the Gospel of Matthew.
In early November David Crosby, pastor of the First Baptist Church of New Orleans, preached a great sermon at the Louisiana Baptist Convention (held at his own church). An mp3 of the sermon is located on his church’s website. It’s 30 minutes long. I encourage everyone to listen to it. Here’s a direct link to it:
Sad news. Some time last night the Alvar Street wall of our sanctuary got tagged with graffiti. The policeman is making a report right now.
So, does anyone know the best way to get black spray paint off of brink?
Shannon and I will be in Alabama from Tuesday to Sunday. We’ll have no services on Wednesday night (Thanksgiving Eve). Jake Bondurant will bring the message on Sunday, November 30th. Please come out and support Jake. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
